Not all oil is created equal. There are many of them on the market today and some are healthier, and more natural, than others. Oftentimes people who have asked, 'what are healthy oils for my body?' have been very confused about the wide range on offer, and have been unsure as to what they can and cannot eat.

Oil generally comes to your plate in two distinct forms: processed and unprocessed. The processed kind, like vegetable, sunflower, canola, rapeseed and others, were introduced around the 1900s. This was when chemical processes made it easy for them to be manufactured. The trouble is, these foods have to be altered with chemicals to get into a state that allows us to eat them.

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as healthy fat. These are often oils that haven't been chemically altered. In this day and age of processed foods, the non-processed ones are usually healthier, and it's the same with fat. Olive oil is a great example of a natural product that can be eaten in salads or used in mayo.

Those who have not used coconut oil before should give it a try. It contains levels of lauric acid and fatty acids that can be of great benefit to the body. This may go against conventional wisdom about fat, but not all of it is bad for you. We need some fats to give us energy, and coconut oil is one of the best because it can be used in place of sunflower or vegetable oil.

Meat often has a very bad reputation for being unhealthy. The problem with meat isn't the animal, but often its the way it has been treated before it gets on our plate. If you eat meat that has been treated well, like free range chicken and grass-fed beef, then you'll usually get a healthier cut of meat. Therefore, try and looking at the label the next time you buy and look at how the animal has been raised.

Butter is something that many people seem to think ill of. It's a product that's created from natural processes with natural ingredients. Although, like anything, it should be consumed to excess, it does have its health benefits, in the form of soluble fat vitamins.some have linked the product to increased nutrition absorption and also to disease prevention.

This may seem rather obvious, but when you're out in the supermarket, it's a good idea to try buying organic produce, especially if you buy a lot of dairy products. Things like cream and cheese have plenty of saturated fat but are normally healthier than the alternatives because they have not be chemically altered and processed.

To anyone pondering what are healthy oils for my body? the thing to think about is the way your food is produced. Food produced with less chemicals if often better to consumed than food that has been highly treated. Things like fish and avocados are good sources of natural oils, as is palm oil.
